We are a growing practice of Rehabilitation Psychologists who have been offering assessment services to a diverse population of people with disabilities for 25 years.  We currently have offices in New Westminster, Victoria, and Nanaimo.  We are interested in hiring a permanent full-time Office Manager for our main office in New Westminster.  This person helps to keep our Psychologists, clients, office, and support staff in order and running smoothly.  More specifically, this person would assist us in the following areas:

 

Psychometry (25%)

+ Administering and scoring psychological and vocational assessments following training that we will provide.

 

Office Administration and Reception (75%)

+ Welcoming clients, directing incoming calls and inquiries.

+ Liaison between psychometrists, psychologists, clients, and referral sources (lawyers, disability case managers, vocational coaches).

+ Supervising and training support staff.

+ Formatting, proof-reading and preparing reports for courier.

+ Scheduling clients and maintaining the web calendar.

+ File organization and arranging for archival of files to off-site storage.

+ Basic bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, collections and deposits.

+ Facilities: supervising and hiring building contractors.

+ Inventory, ordering and maintaining office and psychological test supplies.

 

Minimum qualifications:

Computer Skills: Typing speed (minimum 30 WPM), familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word for Windows XP and Mac OS X.

Education: Bachelors degree in the social sciences, preferably psychology.

Desired Characteristics: Reliable, excellent interpersonal skills, organized, good attention to detail, able to work independently, team player.

 

We are seeking someone with a degree, preferably in psychology or a related social science, as well as demonstrated office experience commensurate with the above requirements. This is an excellent position for an individual to build skills in supporting the active practice of Rehabilitation Psychology.

 

Given the nature of our clientele, maturity and sensitivity are critical. Previous experience working with people with disabilities is considered an asset.  In addition, the individual must be able to work well under pressure and be able to tolerate competing demands and occasional unpredictability.  

 

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday (except statutory holidays) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at our head office in New Westminster. The office is easily accessible by public transit and we have free parking on-site.
